| Application Dates and Deadlines | UG: Rolling admissions for international students. We recommend applying at the same time as applications to US universities. Overseas Australians apply at the end of their senior year through VTAC. Some graduate degrees in law, health, veterinary science and fine arts start only in Jan/Feb with applications due 4-6 months the year before. |

| Standardized Testing Policy | For the US high school diploma, Melbourne requires the SAT or ACT or an aggregate score of AP exams. Semester 1 runs from February to June and semester 2 from July to November. Most degrees provide the flexibility to start in either semester, as orientation and core classes are held every semester. Graduating from the US in May or June, students can apply for the mid-year intake but then apply to defer to start in February of the following year. Deferrals are common in Australia, providing students with a mini gap year. Melbourne guarantees campus housing for students.
